Take Stock of the Wins and Heed the Losses Day 148
I felt really rejuvenated after waking up this morning, and I practically felt zero pain in my ankle. Despite this, I still decided to give myself one more day before I started running again, just to be safe. However, it was a beautiful day and I really wanted to be out in nature, so I went for a short walk in place of a run. I can’t express how great it was to return to some semblance of my usual routine, even though it’s only been a couple days!
I had a really pleasant conversation with a stranger as I was out running errands. I was picking things up for dinner when this nice woman recommended a certain ingredient over the one I was going to buy. I thanked her and told her about my new lifestyle and fitness journey, and she replied that I looked like I had been extremely healthy for years, not just a few months. This was so nice to hear, as I would have never pictured myself as looking “extremely healthy”, at least not until now! It’s always wonderful when strangers help your efforts feel affirmed.
Daily Image Year of Change Day 148#YOC
According to a least one stranger, this body is the picture of health (at least while fully clothed.
Tonight’s workout went even better than yesterday’s, so I think I should be back to normal by tomorrow. I tried to incorporate some stability-based exercises that can help prevent injuries in the future. This is also a good reason why it’s important to have a strong core, as the core essentially stabilizes the whole body. Of course, it would also help to be more careful!
