Over my life, I have heard many times that life begins at 40, it always seemed so far off, something that happens to others, yet here I am, my 39th birthday and one year to go. Today is zero-day; for over a year now, I have been planning on starting a lifestyle called Geo that I theorised years ago Living Geo Life, yet life and excuses kept getting in the way, always another party to get to, one last cigarette, one last bender, I even used Covid as an excuse over this last year not to eat healthy all of which were excuses not to take responsibility for being overweight, lazy and looking for the easy way out.

Don’t get me wrong I work hard to pay the mortgage and provide for my family. Yet I used the graft, mental and physical exhaustion as an excuse looking for a way out, an escape. Well, today is the being of the fightback; I will take you through the next year of my life, with were possible daily blogs. Welcome to Day Zero.

This is me today, Max Atlas, who through discipline, positive thinking, healthy lifestyle choices and exercise will transform over the next 365 days and by the time I am 40 let’s see if life next chapter can truly begin.

Day Zero First Day Of The Rest Of My Life

I’ve always believed that the present moment is the best time to make a change in your life. It is for this reason that I’ve decided to finally get my mental and physical health back on track, and for good this time. There are plenty of reasons why I need to get a grip on my physical health as I approach the age of forty, but I am confident that this fitness journey will do much more than just help me get back in shape–it should improve my life in myriad ways beyond just that. I can hardly wait to get started and share my progress with all of you.

With that being said, I’ve definitely got a long way to go. I started gaining weight steadily after I injured my Achilles tendon about seventeen months ago; I’ve been planning to start losing weight for about a year now, but during that time frame, I’ve actually gained weight! This honestly shouldn’t be surprising, considering how much I love indulging in pizza, chips, beer, and sweets, not to mention eating fast food for breakfast! I knew I had a problem after my weight started causing pain in my metal hip from an old injury, but the worst part was not even being able to keep up with my kids while playing with them in the park. I routinely feel short of breath even during everyday activities, and I’ve noticed my clothes getting tighter and tighter. After this, I realized I needed to get back in shape before things really got out of hand.

Measurable Goal for Benchmarking The Physical Aspects

My current plan is to complete a fitness/diet regimen with the aim of losing 20 kg over 24 weeks, or just under one kg per week. I will be posting daily images so you can follow my progress from start to finish. I already know that this journey is not going to be easy, and I’m likely to suffer a few minor setbacks along the way. In particular, driving past KFC without stopping is going to be absolute hell in the beginning. However, I’m sure that with a little determination and focus, I’ll be able to overcome any obstacle and get to where I want to be.

I can’t begin to express how excited I am to embark on this fitness journey and discover how it will not only transform my own life, but also the lives of others. With this blog, I invite you to join me, Max Atlas, as I work to not only lose weight but shift wholly to a wellness-oriented lifestyle. I know that right now it seems like my old lifestyle is dragging me down to a point of no return, but today, along with tomorrow, I take the first triumphant steps towards lifelong wellness. I hope you’ll come along for the ride.

Geo Lifestyle — Day Zero

Geo is a way of being, I have for years thought about getting fit, not just in the body, but spiritually also, reducing the crippling anxiety felt from time to time, increasing both energy levels and motivation. Embark with me on this journey to get fit by 40 and see what lays ahead for the next chapter of life. I will use 8 steps that I have named the 8 Steps of Geo, the beauty with Geo is there is no time limit, and you can jump on and off as you like just start again on day 1 no judgement, its YOU against YOU.

So age I sit here on my 39th Birthday waiting for my wife to get home from her 12 hour night shift, and the kids are yet to wake up, yet I cannot help but feel excited about this journey. One for may years I have tried and failed to achieve, I cannot promise you I will succeed but I can promise I won’t stop trying, and each failure will only allow me to come back stronger than ever. Geo is a way of life, a choice that I am making, just by trying is better than I did yesterday. Next, I will cover the baseline statistics at the start of my journey and I will publish these gain at the end however will give weekly weight updates, as I want to track everything is going well, other than just feeling better.

Vital Statistics On Day Zero Of Geo — Turning Your Life Around Ready for 40

One of my biggest internal reflections on why I don’t keep fit and eat takeaway food is not enough time. I tell myself I am too busy, to tired, and not enough time. I will break down my full week in terms of hours and let’s see if this is true. There are 168 hours in a week and I wonder if I make then count, I know I have the excuse for sure, but is it founded in reality? Let us find out:

So I have 16 hours clearly unaccounted for probably missed some basic stuff we do every day here and there but when I add it up there is a lot of wasted hours going on, where I could be a lot more productive and certainly, I will be exploring this throughout this year. Certainly, TV time and going out twice per week to socialise around alcohol are things I have wanted to change for a while, also I am almost addicted to the constant stream of crap that comes out of the news, yet I find myself reading more and more like chasing a high or something, then afterwards just feel like crap so certainly want to cut the News out.

Straight away I can see opportunity here and that’s great will see how day one pans out tomorrow, but I will set a schedule and give it a go, I will also need to find time to make these daily blogs, as part of my routine, so something will have to give.

Day Zero Vital Body Measurements

I know these won’t be great and have been putting it off, I have increase two pants size at least and the 44-inch waist are getting a little tight. I will display the images in centimetres and inches so Americans can understand (ANY WOKE PEOPLE THIS IS A JOKE SEE WARNING).

My Measurements In Centimeters and Inches

Vital Signs Blood Pressure Pulse and Body Weight

I have taken some baseline observation I have taken oxygen levels, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate and body weight. I will monitor these monthly and see if any changes during my transformation to the wellness of the body and mind.

Unfit, Fatigued, Unmotivated and Unhappy What to Do

As you can see the baseline measurements are very uncool, this is the heaviest I have ever weighed and a body shape that has involved upsizing clothes so not cool. I remember buying a bigger T-shirt and think yea I still look cool it hides the fat, but what really got me was on the beach, I slipped into my wet suit, and it got stuck at the waist even lubed up I couldn’t squeeze myself in not a pretty picture my rating on Percent Body Fat Calculator: Skinfold Method is 34 per cent not cool.

One thing I know that I love is food, but currently, I don’t really plan anything, no meals, just go to the shop and throw in whatever I want, usually easy stuff to cook and eat, we try and have vegetables as it is for the kids but really I have been looking into this and it’s less than Ideal, I have been average nearly 2700 calorie per day and just slowly ballooning, not any more here is my first shopping list in my life and I will share I have transcribed it as my handwriting is not legible to English speakers other than me. I may vary from the list but each item will be like for like as much as possible.

I will document my daily meals each day and throw in some snaps now and again, I am no master chef but will certainly have a good go. I only hope when I give the list to my wife, the only other human that can interoperate my hand writing she doesn’t make me eat it.
