Is it Possible to Get Fit in One Year’s Time — Day 37
I woke up today feeling extra determined. Even though it was a break day, I still got up early and did some chores around the house. It always feels good to get something accomplished at the start of your day, no matter how big or small.
Work went fine today, and I actually got to have a lunch break (would you believe it!). Even though I got to save myself from starvation, I still decided to keep some granola bars stocked in my bag at all times. I know I used to carry around things like apples or bananas in the past, but granola bars won’t spoil as fast. It would be nice to have something a bit more savoury as well, but I couldn’t think of anything that’s healthy, inexpensive, and that won’t rot inside my bag after a few days. Granola bars it is then, for the time being, at least.

Slow but sure all is well. Each day when I act is a step in the right direction, delayed gratification is the only gratification worth spending time on.
I was really eager to work out this evening, but I got a bit sidetracked; my kids kept bugging me to let them exercise with me. I figured that they wouldn’t stop asking until I budged, so I just let them watch for a bit and then showed them how to do a few bodyweight exercises. I was still able to get my full workout done, albeit a lot slower, and I did get to spend some quality time with my kids, so I still consider this little episode to be positive. Kids can be a hassle to deal with sometimes, but I don’t often appreciate the many ways they help me grow as a person.

Sometimes it’s not about the destination it’s about the journey, and I have to remind myself this, that each day is to be enjoyed and all we have are a series of moments.
